CHRISTMAS HAUL!!! :) (What I Got For Christmas!)

Hey guys! Last Christmas post of the year, it's been a busy day but I figured I'd find the time to do this post! I LOVE watching and looking at hauls so I thought that this would be a great haul to do so...lets get started! :)

As this is a beauty blog...I'll start with the beauty stuff! I got TWO things of mini nail polish, one is the Sephora by OPI Tinsel Town set...which is awesome, and the other is from ULTA and it's the OPI "Stuff My Stocking" set. I've just started to collect mini polishes, and I've found that they're great, cause I love painting my nails, and can never go through a full size, so I can try out all the pretty colors at a fraction of a cost! I also got one full size OPI polish in "Steady as She Rose," which is a light pinky-lilac color.

I also got some Yankee Candle stuff...I LOVE Yankee Candle. I got a small jar candle in "Farmers Market," which is great! Cause I needed a new candle for my nightstand and these are the perfect size for it! I also got a set of three Yankee Candle air fresheners that I can hang in my car or at my desk at studio (as an architecture major I get a desk of my own in studio...yeah...I'm that cool.)

As for clothes: I got a cute pair of PJ pants and some boxer shorts as well as some fuzzy socks (LOVE), and a black scarf from my roommate none of which are shown here...and I also got a gift card to Banana Republic...which is one of my favorite stores along with GAP (Luckily I can spend it there too!)

While Christmas shopping, I asked my mom to give them my e-mail at Sephora so I can get the points if she shopped there. Well, since it's my birthday month, they gave her my little birthday present so she put that in my stocking. I thought that was cute and funny. I also got a tube of MAC mascara...which I've never tried but have been wanting to. I also got another bottle of my favorite perfume: Chanel Chance, which I've been running out of! I also got a body was set with lotion, shower gel, bubble bath, and a new lufah!!! YAY! :)

As for electronics, I got a digital picture frame (which ruined my boyfriends birthday present idea...hahahah), but I'm super excited about it! I also got a blender from my roommate...she knew I needed one after the last time we tried to make homemade icing with a hand cranked mixer...And I got a new speaker system for my iPhone! Which is sweet cause I've been wanting one for my apartment...since the computer speakers aren't all that great when we wanna jam out!

One of my big presents: A TIFFANY'S BRACELET!!! AHHH!!!! I've been wanting something from Tiffany's for so long! It's so timeless and classy!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE my bracelet...that is all.

My other big present...which is kind of dorky...lol: a wide format printer. What is that do you ask? A printer that can print pages up to 13" by 19" (we use 11" by 17" a lot in architecture, and that is about twice the size of normal pages). I also got an Office Max gift card for ink and paper (I already got the paper which was like $20 for a ream!!) I also got a thing of label dots with my gift card to write the names on the bottom of my mini nail polishes since they don't have the names labeled. :/

And the last two things, which I don't have a picture for because they kind of don't exist yet: My car fixed! Someone hit it in the door and left a huge ugly dent...and me being a cheapskate have been driving around like that for about a year so my dad is getting it fixed for me for Christmas and a desk hutch for my studio desk! My boyfriend is making me a nice desk hutch for my printer and books so I don't have to clutter up my studio desk with that stuff. awww! :)

HOLIDAY 2012 WISHLIST: Clothes!

I guess before I do my after Christmas sales shopping I'll do Part 3 of my Winter 2012/2013 wish list! This one is clothes:

Black Skinny Jeans
I've been wanting these for a long time, I think they look so chic and cute! I love wearing black, and there is so much I can wear with black pants!

Chevron Sweater (Gap $55)
I LOVE this print! I feel like it will go good with everything, also my wardrobe is kind of lacking in the sweater department...I feel like this one will keep me warm for the rest of the winter and look super cute!

New Coat (Banana Republic Outlet)
I try an get a new coat every winter, and this year I found mine at Banana Republic on Black Friday for $40!!! (was almost $200 originally!)It's quite similar to this one, without the houndstooth print, and it has a white bow on the back as well. It's super cute!

Tuxedo Blazer (Forever 21 $35)
This one is at Asos, but I got mine at Forever 21 while looking for a New Years Eve dress and it looks almost identical for half the price. I like buying trendy items at F21, because then when they go out of style next season, I'm not out a lot of money. They serve their purpose seasonally. I love how it looks with my black jeans, and I think it will look great over my dress!

Brown Riding Boots (DSW about $150)
If I get nothing else this season, I hope I get these. I really have been wanting a pair of nice, brown riding boots. They're such a staple and will be well worth the $150 I'm willing to spend. My roommate got a nice pair at TJ Maxx however for around $50, so I definitely need to check there!

Steve Madden Black Flats (DSW $40)
I have my black Tory Burch's which I LOVE...but sometimes I want to wear a pair of black flats without the gold emblem on them, and I don't have a pair unfortunately. So I am definitely going to run by DSW at some point and pick these up. I love Steve Madden shoes and a simple black flat is such a staple!

Black Oxfords (DSW $40)
Another staple shoe I've been wanting. I have plenty of brown ones, but no black ones! So here is yet another staple shoe I will be picking up from DSW at some point this season!

New Years Eve Dress (Forever 21 ($15)
I've always wanted to get a pretty dress for New Years Eve (which happens to also be my birthday!!!), but have never really done anything that would require one. This year, I'm turning 21 and I'm going out to a nice restaurant with my parents and I think throwing a pretty NYE party at my house. I REALLY wanted to find a dress, and while this one isn't sparkly (My nails and makeup will be though)...I LOVED IT...and the price. Mine, is a bit different from this one (the collar is nude and the rest is black)...but they're very similar. ALSO: Watch out for a bunch of NYE fashion, OOTH, and makeup and nail posts! :)

Hope you enjoyed my last Wishlist post for winter (I don't think I'm going to do the "apartment" one, as it basically just candles and a paper towel holder...lol)!

NOTD: OPI for Sephora "A True Romantic"

Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you all got everything you wanted! :)
I for one, got a TON of nail polish! And here's the first one I tried on. A soft pink by OPI for Sephora called "A True Romantic" (it came in my "Tinsel Town" set.

I love the color, it is versatile and timeless, and the polish is easy to apply. The only problem I had, was that it took 3 coats to be opaque because it was so light. Although, most very light colors I try are like this so I guess it's not that big of a deal. Anyways, I thought it was super pretty, and a nice change of pace from all the sparkly and deep colored nail polishes for the holidays. I would definitely recommend this nail polish if you like these colors and are willing to wait for that extra coat to dry!

(also, I hope you guys like my awesome Photoshop skills! lol)
Ta ta for now lovelys! Hope you had a great holiday! :)...Look out, tomorrow I will try an post my Christmas haul!

Merry Christmas!! :)

Hey guys! I thought I'd make a Christmas post since it's Christmas Eve and all, and I have super cute nails! :) Here's what I've been up to this holiday season!

This is our apartment Christmas tree! We had a few other decorations, but not that many since our apartment is so small, but our tree was super cute! (I took it down before break...)

I was quite proud of myself for these cupcakes that I took to a cookout. They're Dr. Pepper cupcakes with homemade Dr Pepper buttercream icing. Heres' what I did: Put a can of Dr. Pepper in with a box of german chocolate cake mix and filled cupcake tins about 1/2 full, and baked them for 20 minutes. For the icing I creamed 2 sticks of softened butter, 1/4 cup of cocoa powder, a few tbsp of Dr. Pepper and a 1 lb bag of powdered sugar. The icing was super thick so i was able to mold it on the top like that. To finish it off I added a cherry on top!

A couple weeks ago my mom found three kittens under our neighbors house that had been living there for a while. This one is solid white, and she is super soft and sweet. I put a red bow on her today and it was super cute, except she kinda freaked out a little...and wouldn't go sit under the Christmas tree like I wanted her to. But I was able to snap a cute enough picture of her with the bow. Isn't she adorable! :)

And of course, my Christmas nails! First I painted my nails with Kennelbunk-Port by OPI, and after I let that dry I painted the tips with a gold sharpie. I was just gonna leave it as a french manicure...but I messed it up, so I painted just the tops with the gold glitter polish (Only Gold for Me by OPI for Sephora), to give it a nice ombre effect. I really like how it turned out! Sometimes mistakes are for the best! :)

Anyways...Merry Christmas you guys! Be looking for a Christmas Haul sometime tomorrow or later! :)

NOTD: "Leotard Optional" by OPI for Sephora

This is one of those nail polishes that works all year round and is a great staple for anyones collection. Sometimes I just want a classic nude polish and this is one of my two favorites (the other being Essie's "Sand Tropez"). It's a bit darker than normal nude polishes which works for me because I'm rather tan.

The polish itself is really easy to apply and a really good formula. I only have a few OPI for Sephora polishes, and even though they're made by OPI, I like the formula better. This is two coats with a topcoat and it didn't chip very fast. Overall I would recommend this polish (which you can still get at Sephora because they keep all the polishes from previous collections!)

On a side note: I apologize for being kind of sporadic with my posts, I've been pretty busy with school. I'm going to really try to vary my types of posts (more hauls, tutorials, favorites, ect.) and try to post at least every other day! :)

Holiday 2012 Wish-list: NAIL POLISH!

For part 2 of my wish list, I'm doing nail polishes. There's quite a few that I want a a few from it that I have already acquired (yay!). So I guess...lets get started:

Live and Let Die ($8.50 @ Ulta)
When I saw this one in stores, I loved the murky bluish-green with the subtle sparkles. It is a truly unique color and now that I own this one I can't wait to try it!

Goldeneye ($8.50 @ Ulta)
I bought this one based on great reviews of it, and I must say that it is a really great staple gold nail polish! I'm really glad I purchased it. See my full review here.

The World is Not Enough ($8.50 @ Ulta)
I found this one at Ulta on Black Friday, and its the first one out of the Skyfall collection that I really wanted. I love how interesting the color was and how it was great for winter and fall. See my full review here.

Chamomile-ion to One ($9.50 @ Sephora)
This one is described as "sheer pink beige with fine gold glitter," which sounds beautiful. I found this one at Sephora's website, but I didn't see it in stores. I definitely will have to order it at some point though.

212-Sephora ($9.50 @ Sephora
This one is described as "and opaque smokey black with gold and copper iridescent finish," this polish looks so unique, and I really want to order it. I don't have anything like it and I think it would be a great addition to my collection.

Beyond Cozy ($7 @ Ulta)
I thought the subtle shimmer on this one was really pretty, I love how elegant and subdued it is and I really want to pick this one up before it goes off sale.

Butler Please ($7 @ Ulta)
I was kind of surprised to see a periwinkle blue in a Holiday collection, it looked like it should have been in the spring collection. However, I thought it was cool to have a brighter color for winter and I love Essie polishes so I'd like to pick this one up. I have a feeling it could become one of my new favorite year round polishes!

I haven't seen this in person yet, but from the swatches I've seen on websites it is a really beautiful polish. This is one of the other really popular polishes of the season and I can't wait to get my hands on it!

NARS Superstar ($18 @ Sephora)
I always like picking up a NARS nail polish as I love the formula and the colors. This is my favorite one from the Andy Warhol collection and I hope I get it for Christmas!!! :)

Chanel Malice ($25 @ Chanel Counters & Stores)
I love the color of this beautiful Chanel Nail polish, and this is another Christmas List item I really hope to get. I can see this becoming one of my favorite polishes and a sure staple!

Well guys, thats all for my nail polish portion of my wish list, stay tuned for part 3 which is clothes! :)

NOTD: "Goldeneye" from OPI's Skyfall Collection

After hearing so much about how great Goldeneye was, I had to go pick it up and try it for myself! It is a really great gold polish, and two coats made it almost completely opaque! Something almost unheard of for glitter polishes.

Though the formula is great, and I really like the polish, I'm not sure if I'm going to be wearing the gold polish again like that. It was REALLY sparkly, and while a like sparkle that one might have been a bit gaudy for my taste. I think it will be a great polish for an interesting french manicure or an accent color on some nails.

Overall, however, I highly recommend this polish! :)

Sephora/Ulta Holiday Haul! :)

So today I finally checked my e-mail, and since I'm a Sephora Beauty Insider, I found a $15 off $50 coupon in my inbox that expires today...well yesterday since its 2:48 am. And also since I was going to Shreveport anyways for work (fate!) I HAD to spend it. I've totally been wanting the LORAC Eye Candy Full Face collection palettes (see my wish list), so I figured I'd rather spend $44 on it than $59...I also HAD to stop in Ulta...you know since they're right next door and got a few nail polishes that are (and will be as soon as I get around to putting them up) on my nail polish wish list!

Anyhoo...heres what I got:

Aren't they cute!!! :) I love chocolate, and I love eyeshadow and makeup so I HAD to have this! I love LORAC eyeshadows...I have one baked palette from them, and its really good. All of these eyeshadows seemed really silky and smooth when I swatted them. I'm not sure about the eyeliner palette or the lip/cheek stain palette but I'm excited to try them out! Speaking of swatches...heres all 6 palettes included in the set:

I got a few nail polishes at Ulta. I bought "Goldeneye" from the OPI Skyfall collection because I've heard great things about it, and I was looking for China Glaze's "Champagne Kisses," because I've heard great things about that one too, but Ulta didn't have it...sigh. Although I ended up getting "Live and Let Die," another from the Skyfall collection I've been wanting. And since I got 2 OPI polishes...I got a Christmas one for free! :) Yay!

"Goldeneye" by OPI (Skyfall Collection)

"Live and Let Die" by OPI (Skyfall Collection)

"Skip the Gift Wrap" by OPI (Christmas Collection?)

Well that's about all folks! ;)
But for real...seeing as it's after 3 am, I think I'm about to hit the hey before I get anymore delirious!! Nighty Night! :)
