NOTD: Sephora by Opi "Thyme for a Mani"

I decided I like using my Sony Cybershot camera instead of my iPhone...much better quality pictures...imagine that! Anyways, for my nails I used "Thyme for a Mani" by Sephora by OPI. This was one that came in my set of 16 mini polishes. It's a great color! The formula is awesome and it's a really interesting neutral. I was feeling a neutral today when I decided to paint my nails...and I'm glad to have run across this one!

P.S. Sorry about my bad cuticles!!! Just look at the pretty color! ;)

OOTD: Leopard and Green

I really wanted to wear a few of my new things today. And this is the outfit that I ended up using to do so! I paired my dark green jeans with my new white button down, my riding boots, and my leopard print scarf and belt. I really like this outfit!!!

Also this is my first time using the blogger app!! Hope it works! :)

1st Experience Thrifting: Plus Franchesca's and TJ Maxx Haul! :)

Today my roommate and I decided to try our hand at thrifting. We found some cute stuff, but I seemed to like the experience more than her. She was pretty grossed out and I can see why. I guess my love of fashion/a good deal trumped it. Anyways, we started off at Goodwill, then went to Franchesca's and TJ Maxx...maybe we can try out the other Goodwill one day soon.

But here's what treasures I found on my thrifting adventure! :)

Brooks Brothers Button down, I was pretty excited about this one. It's the first awesome find of the day. I love button downs and the preppy look and nothing says upscale preppy like Brooks Brothers! No one has to know it was $3.99! ;)

Banana Republic 3/4 length white button down. This was another great find! It's a fitted white button down that I'll be able to wear through winter and on into spring/summer! Woo! I LOVE that it's fitted and its super soft.

I don't recognize the brand on this, and it's a size 8...but it's 100% silk and i tried it on and it fits beautifully. This may turn into one of my favorite pieces! This was definitely a gem!

I've been looking for a gold chain link necklace, and I love the length and size of this one! And for $1.99 I couldn't beat it! :)

Anyways those are all my secondhand items I found. My total came to $14 and some change. I'd say I did pretty well for my first time thrifting!

Franchesca's

After the old gross feel of the Goodwill we decided to go to a cute boutique style store with NEW!

I LOVE this skirt!!! And it was in the sale items for $10!!!

T.J. Maxx

In the spirit of thrifting, but roomie wanting new, never worn things we stopped into T.J. Maxx...I found way too many things I liked. Oops! :)

I'm going to adore this top for spring!! :)

Saw this blazer and instantly fell in love, it's super soft cotton so it will carry me through until spring! Can't wait to make all kinds of outfits with it! :)

Express scarf for $6!!! So Nautical and cute!!

Steve Madden belts, they came in a set of two for $12!

Nine West bag: $17!! Best find of the day...hands down!

Here's two things my mom bought but ended up giving to me this weekend: Go Mom!

Recap: I ended up spending around $110 and I got 4 tops, 2 belts, a new purse, 2 jackets, a necklace, 2 scarves, and a skirt..Woo hoo!!!
Can't wait to go "thrifting" again! :)

NOTD: Essie "Recessionista"

This weekend my dad got married! Congrats dad! Anywho...as I was in a rush to get out the door I realized my spring green nails were chipping so I grabbed a more appropriate color and painted them quickly.

I love this color, and it dried really quickly and with two coats and a top coat I'm really surprised I didn't ruin the paint job. This color is from the fall collection this year, but I really like the jewel tone purple for winter. It looked great with my outfit (which I apologize for not snapping a picture of...I was running way late!) which was a black dress with a tan cardigan.

Pantone 2013 Color of the Year: Emerald

I love emerald green, my eyes are green so whenever I wear it I feel like they pop. Anyways, Pantone came out with their 2013 color of the year and this year it's emerald! Woo! Here's a few ways to incorporate the pretty green into your wardrobe this year:

Everyday Emerald

I love colored jeans. I already have a pair of dark green ones, I need to invest in a pair of lighter ones for spring. I love leopard too, and its really popular right now. Here's a good everyday way to wear emerald. I would totally wear this to class or on the weekend. And a nice breezy blouse tucked into a pair of jeans and belted with some comfy flats would be great and cute outfit for casual days.

Dressy Green

I really want a dress in this style. Add some nice heels and a blazer with neutral accessories and it would be a really great/classy outfit for spring. I have work, and presentations quite a lot and this would be the perfect outfit for something like that. Nude heels are so versatile that everyone should have a pair, and with this outfit keep everything else neutral to let the green really pop!

Splashes of Green

I'm pretty sure everyone has an outfit similar to this one. I know this is similar to my everyday uniform. By adding green accessories to outfits that are already in your closet, it a great and inexpensive way to stay on trend with the color of the year. Grab an emerald scarf, a cute pair of shoes, a nice belt, or even nail polish or eyeshadow to spice up your everyday uniform!

OOTD: Cute Dress in Winter!

Hey guys, so yesterday my roommate and I decided to clean out our closets. It ended up with me getting a dress (which is super cute), and her getting 20+ different things like shirts, pants, shoes, necklaces, ect. (I've been needing to do some spring cleaning for a while...)

Anyways...this is the new dress I got..for free, and how I dressed it up for class in the winter! :)

Dress: Gifted?; Belt: Forever 21; Necklace: H&M; Leggings:Franchesca's; Shoes:Charlotte Russe; Bracelet: Tiffany's

Here's a shot right before I leave, with my lovely coat:

Coat: Banana Republic

Random pic!! Haha, actually I wanted a close up of the dress pattern. It has little horses on it and a super cute black collar! Thank you roomie!!! :)

(Overdue) OOTD: Typical Rainy Day Outfit

Last week it was super rainy and gross, but I snapped a pic of my typical winter rainy day outfit. I love, love, love my rain boots! Sometimes when it's rainy I'm kind of glad cause it means I'll get to wear them! :)

Boots: Ralph Lauren; Jeans:Forever 21; Scarf:Thrifted; Coat:Delias (a long time ago...haha)
I wore my grey long sleeve t-shirt from Old Navy under it. It was rainy...and I wanted to be comfy! :)

Anywhoo...sorry it took a few days for me to post this one...I'll try and keep up better next time! :)

NOTD: Essie "Navigate Her"

After an ice storm, the sun was out and it was a pretty (warmer) day. I'm SO ready for spring! Which is why I painted my nails in my favorite spring nail polish of last spring: Essie's "Navigate Her."

I love the creamy formula, and two coats really is all you need. It's a great color too, and I'm sure I'll be wearing it just as much this spring as I did last! :)

OOTD: Super Preppy for a Winter Day! (Jan. 17, 2013)

So we totally had a snow day yesterday and it was awesome! Down here in Louisiana we don't get those that often and it consisted of gross freezing rain and sub freezing temperatures. Ick. I basically stayed home all day in my pjs and watched movies. Today, however, it's still gonna be pretty chilly but when I got up for class today I was feeling quite explorative and decided to try some new stuff with my clothes, here's the result:

Button Down: Marshall's; Sweater: Charlotte Russe; Jeans: Gap; Boots: Kenneth Cole; Necklace: Gifted; Belt: American Eagle

Here is it with my coat and school bag, I meant to wear my black peacoat but I couldn't find it in my rush out the door...so I ended up looking super colorful and preppy! haha.

Coat: Forever 21; Bag: T.J. Maxx (But it's Vera Bradley in "Barcelona" I think)

I really like this outfit, I love classic/preppy styles as well as more bold and edgy ones. I feel like my style kind of rides between the two. One of my new years resolutions is that I'm really going to try an experiment more with clothes and makeup! :)

Beauty Haul (Sephora and Target)!!

Over break I did a little bit of shopping, and I picked up some things that I've really been wanting. Here's what I got!:

I picked up two foundations, one is the Covergirl foundation that I love! I needed a second one, and the other is the Maybelline dream foam that I've been wanting to try.

I also got another Sephora by OPI nail polish that I've been looking at for quite some time in the shade 212-Sephora (NOTD on that one...), as well as another birthday gift (they sent me another for some reason...lol).

The lipstick I got was by Covergirl in "Hot," I've been wanting this color for spring and I figured since I had a gift card, I'd pick it up. Here's a swatch:

And finally: I got the Lorac Pro Palette, just by swatching them I can tell I'll love the shadows! It comes with 16, the top row is matte and the bottom row is shimmer, and all the colors are gorgeous and highly pigmented. It also comes with a little tube of primer! :)

First Row: (From left to right) White, Cream, Taupe, Lt. Pink, Mauve, Sable, Espresso, Black

Second Row: (From left to right) Nude, Champagne, Gold, Lt. Bronze, Pewter, Garnet, Deep Purple, Slate

That's all in this haul! Keep a look out for more OOTD's, NOTD's, Tutorials and more! :)

NOTD: Sephora by OPI - 212-Sephora

I've seen this polish on the Sephora website, and had my eye on it for quite a while. I thought the color and the sparkles in it looked really interesting, and they really do. It's a dark brown/black with copper sparkles along with multi colored glitter I think. It's a really beautiful one of a kind polish and I'm really glad I got it! :)

OOTD! - Chevron Stripes and Riding Boots

Hey guys! Sorry I've been kind of MIA lately...my new years resolution is to blog at LEAST once a week...so I missed last week, but I've been SUPER busy! Here's a quick outfit of the day with some of the stuff I got with Christmas gift cards and such!

The high is 73 today, which is kind of ridiculous considering two days ago it was below freezing! I got this shirt in just a few days ago since ordering it from Gap and this is the first time I get to wear it...yay! The boots are Kenneth Cole, and I got them from Piperlime, the jeans are an old pair of Forever 21 jeans, the belt is an old belt from American Eagle, and my timepiece necklace from H&M.

Look out for a NOTD with my new nail polish and a beauty haul! :)
